Role Overview
- Work with protection engineers and perform quality reviews on relay setting packages
- Create logic diagrams for IEC61850 substations
- Work directly with clients as well as other staff in remote office locations
- Support a full range of project planning activities through design and construction support
- Prepare relay settings from 4.16kV through 500kV including relay set points, logic diagrams, configuration files and documentation
- Solve challenging substation engineering problems
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and internship experience (Associate Level)
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) and three plus years of related experience (Intermediate Level)
- Willingness to travel to customer sites and in-office/testing lab as needed
- Experience creating relay settings and logic diagrams
- Understanding of Aspen OneLiner and/or Siemen’s CAPE for coordination studies and fault study analysis
- Preparation of protective relay coordination studies
- Ability to learn development of relay settings for microprocessor relays (SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB)
- Familiarity with Schweitzer AcSELerator QuickSet, General Electric EnerVista and Schneider Electric MiCOM software is a plus
- Strong engineering and interpersonal skills with high attention to detail
- Experience implementing control and protection schemes including interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams
