Deliver Mechanical Engineering design packages across all project stages, ensuring outputs are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements and relevant standards.
Undertake Mechanical design work as required, contributing technical input from concept through to construction.
Take responsibility for the delivery of defined engineering packages, ensuring quality, adherence to programme, and coordination with other disciplines.
Coordinate design activities within project teams, working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to support overall project delivery.
Apply sound engineering judgement to resolve technical challenges of moderate complexity within assigned scope.
Identify and communicate technical risks and issues to the project lead, supporting their resolution.
Maintain quality control of own work and contribute to consistency across project outputs.
Provide guidance and day-to-day support to junior engineers, assisting in their technical development.
Support the planning and organisation of work within their area of responsibility, with the opportunity to develop experience in broader project planning and coordination.
Assist BIM and modelling teams in producing coordinated 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.
Attend design meetings, workshops, and site visits as required.
Engage with clients and stakeholders as required, communicating clearly on technical matters.
Work collaboratively with internal teams and across disciplines to support coordinated project delivery.
Support the implementation of new systems, tools, and processes where required.
Maintain and promote the professional reputation of EDC in all interactions.
Collaborate with colleagues across EDC offices where appropriate to support project delivery.
Demonstrate a willingness to continue developing technical capability and broader project understanding in line with career progression.
Follow EDC’s Environmental Management System (EMS), including all related policies, procedures, and training.
Perform duties in a manner that supports the company’s environmental objectives and sustainability commitments.
Requirements
Minimum Degree level in Mechanical Engineering
6 + years Building Services Consultancy Design experience.
Expert user of Microsoft Office
Experience with thermal modelling, energy assessment, dynamic energy modelling software advantageous.
Commercial sector knowledge and BIM experience a strong advantage.
Chartership Desirable.
