Safety and Security Officer

Role Overview

• Overseeing and actively monitoring the safety and security environment and movement of staff in Haiti.
• Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with all areas.
• Ensuring that Security Protocols are regularly reviewed, updated, and followed by both staff and visitors.
• Promoting a culture of security between staff.
• Monitoring and analysing the security context in Haiti.
• Facilitating the sending of alerts and the decision-making process.
• Participating in security management activities, overseeing movement planning and tracking.
• Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the smooth and secure operation of the organization.

Requirements

• Working experience in safety and security advisory and/or logistics role in a complex political-humanitarian crisis.
• Languages: French is required. Haitian Creole and English (preferred). Spanish is a plus.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of security management principles and movement planning.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address operational challenges.
• Proficiency in relevant software and systems for logistics management and security monitoring.
• Ability to get along with a diverse group of people, and provide good customer service while managing multiple priorities.
• Knowledge, ability, and willingness to learn Plan International management and program tools and frameworks adhere to Plan International’s policies and guidelines.
