About this role

Perform monthly expense analysis for research activity within Cancer Research
Develop action plans for identified variances in collaboration with principal investigators and the research management team
Responsible for budget development, invoicing, and contract negotiations
Perform monthly research financial oversight
Monitor for compliance with policy
Report any compliance issues to the research management team
Provide ad hoc reports, reconciliations and schedules for management
Negotiate budgets, contracts, and business terms with external funding agencies

Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field
Five years of experience in Accounting
Practical understanding of accounting and month-end closing cycle
Exceptional experience with financial accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to navigate CMS website
Data/analytical experience
Excel, SQL and Snowflake experience
Strong analytical skills to interpret research protocols and develop accurate study budgets
