Manages communications and negotiations with existing suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, contracting, issue resolution, special arrangements, discounts.
Conducts market research to identify new potential suppliers/materials for existing products and check current pricing levels.
Participates in Research and Development projects to support requirements for new products, from the local and international market.
Plans and schedules deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules/business demands and works with inventory management/warehouse management to resolve issues.
Creates and maintains mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement.
Performs as purchasing subject matter expert for internal and external customers due to extensive knowledge on packaging materials, promotional materials, solutions, alternatives.
Participates in the artwork approval process as a liaison between the relevant Supplier and the company, to ensure technical compliance and feasibility.
Monitors supplier performance, communicates and takes action to maintain high levels of supplier performance, according to internal procedures.
Proposes updates to the ERP system that facilitate the process and increase the quality of information retrieved.
Maintains and updates supplier databases as required.
Requirements
Thorough knowledge of the Greek and International market for materials, agents, sources.
Thorough knowledge of methods, technical specifications, attributes etc. various packaging materials and packaging methods.
Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
At least 3-5 years’ experience in a relevant position, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry with manufacturing activities.
Excellent Knowledge of the English language. Computer Literacy (MS Office, ERP System etc).
