Work closely with engineers, contractors, facility managers, and end-users to identify needs, provide technical solutions, and close complex capital equipment sales
Conduct site surveys, load calculations, and performance evaluations to recommend optimal cooling tower solutions
Prepare detailed technical proposals, including equipment sizing, selections, P&IDs, specifications, and ROI/payback analyses
Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on custom solutions and new product feedback
Present technical seminars, webinars, and product training to consulting engineers, contractors, and facility owners
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts (mechanical contractors, EPC firms, consulting engineers, industrial plants, and OEMs)
Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to order close and handover to project execution teams
Provide post-sale technical support and coordinate with service teams for startup, troubleshooting, and optimization
Stay current with industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies, identifying market trends, competitor activity, and new application opportunities
Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets and gross margin goals
Prepare forecasts and sales reports for management and maintain accurate records in CRM (Salesforce or equivalent)
Requirements
Ideally degree qualified with a Bachelor’s of Engineering in Mechanical, Chemical or related technical field
A cooling tower specialist with 3–7+ years of technical sales experience in cooling towers, HVAC, heat exchangers, pumps, or related process equipment
Highly knowledgeable with a strong understanding of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, water chemistry, and cooling tower performance testing
Proficient with cooling tower selection software (e.g., manufacturer-specific programs, HAP, or TRACE)
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents
Knowledgeable of Legionella control, water treatment, and energy-efficiency standards
Ideally a registered Professional Engineer or ability to obtain
An excellent communicator and presenter – able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong skilled in negotiation and closing with a customer-first, consultative approach
Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills
Willing to travel 40-60% (customer visits, job sites, trade shows, and factory support) with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
