About this role
Role Overview
Shape and deepen Wood Mackenzie’s capex modelling structure and content, focusing on offshore and onshore wind.
Lead high-level discussions and analysis on the future of wind energy costs.
Collaborate with developers, investors, and suppliers on risk, supply, demand dynamics, and commodity pricing.
Partner with supply chain and cost experts, market analysts, and LCOE modelling experts for project revenue and IRR projections.
Monitor, maintain, and refresh data through primary and secondary research to ensure quality and accuracy.
Lead and contribute to high-impact research publications and ensure timely delivery of research deliverables.
Establish an industry presence by speaking at conferences, hosting webinars, and engaging with media.
Maintain and expand relationships with key stakeholders and clients across the renewable energy sector.
Provide technical and commercial insight for consulting advisory assignments in wind energy.
Work with sales and marketing to build larger programs and effectively market completed research.
Requirements
Hands-on experience working directly for a renewable energy developer, investor, or supplier.
Deep, practical understanding of project costs and pricing structures from key procurement packages (e.g., wind turbines, vessels, foundations, substations).
Proven hands-on experience in wind energy cost modelling.
Familiarity with component-level cost developments and understanding of existing and future cost drivers.
The ability to transform complex data and technical analysis into actionable, commercially focused insights.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, communication, and organisational skills with a sharp eye for data accuracy.
Highly motivated self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.
Strong listening, critical thinking, presentation, and writing skills to present to senior audiences.
