ICON plc is a world-leading healthcare intelligence and clinical research organization. They are seeking a Data Engineer/Architect to support the design and delivery of a modern, scalable data foundation by building robust, automated data architectures that integrate multiple data sources for reporting and analytics.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement enterprise‑grade data architectures, including data lakes, warehouses, and integration layers
- Build and maintain automated data pipelines for ingesting, validating, transforming, and storing data from multiple sources
- Develop scalable data models and schemas to support consistent metrics, reporting, and analytics
- Establish and apply data standards and quality controls to ensure accuracy, reliability, and repeatability
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Partner with analytics and visualization teams to ensure data is well‑structured and optimized for downstream use
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering and/or data architecture within complex environments
- Strong experience with SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Proven ability to integrate and harmonize multiple, fragmented data sources
- Working knowledge of data governance, data quality, and security best practices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
