They are seeking a Process Engineering Lead to direct the execution of Small Modular Reactor and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects while serving as a recognized expert in process engineering for nuclear facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Direct the execution of Small Modular Reactor and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects
- Serve as a recognized expert on process engineering for nuclear facilities
- Identify innovative solutions to solve unique and complex problems
- Work independently with guidance only in the most challenging situations
- Lead functional teams for projects meeting milestones and objectives
- Direct research and solve unprecedented technical problems of considerable scope and complexity
- Receive general administrative direction
- Execute independent decisions and resolve important questions concerning area of expertise
- Provide oversight and supervision of the technical work of senior professionals
- Interface with senior technical managers and all levels of management throughout the firm
- Provide technical direction throughout the company within field of expertise
- Establish technical criteria on projects related to field of expertise and provide technical input/direction to project managers and team members
- Represent/defend company's technical work to client, regulatory agencies and others
- Participate in technical quality assurance reviews
- Assist management in conducting project review audits involving specialty discipline
- Coordinate with operational managers to identify staffing needs, deficiencies and opportunities for recruitment in technical specialty area
- Assist in the identification, screening, recruitment and orientation of qualified candidates to fill key vacancies within specialty field
- Lead initiatives with considerable risk and complexity; develop the related strategy for execution
- Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop unprecedented solutions
- Impact the direction and resource allocation for initiatives, projects or services; work within general functional policies
- Communicate complex ideas, anticipate potential objections and persuade others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical or Nuclear Engineering
- Minimum of fifteen years post-baccalaureate experience
- Strong communication skills in a challenging, multi-tiered environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to foster and achieve goal alignment among participants with differing interests
- Expert knowledge of key NRC regulations, design codes and standards for commercial nuclear facilities required
- Expert knowledge in the use of related design software codes, including process simulation software
- Senior design professional on Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear reactor projects
- Senior design professional on Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear fuel cycle facilities
- Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience
- Professional Engineering (PE) License required, with ability to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions
- Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered
