Designs for Health is a company focused on health and wellness, and they are seeking a Business Development Representative to expand their customer base. This role involves generating sales leads, initiating calls with prospective customers, and supporting the sales team in uncovering new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Use prospecting strategies to lead initial outreach with customers purchasing less than $500/month
- Research and develop a database of potential leads through online resources, cold calling. Make 25 calls each day resulting in 4-6 scheduled quality engagements for FMCs
- Establish contact with potential leads and introduce them to the company’s products or services
- Initiate exploratory calls with prospects to see if they’d be an ideal customer. Identify the needs and challenges of the customer (are they a good fit for DFH? How can DFH help the practitioner grow their practice and generate revenue through the sale of supplements)
- Determine the prospect’s interest in supplement sales
- Build rapport with potential leads and establish trust to encourage them to do business with the company, and networking
- Cultivate relationships, schedule discovery meetings for sales representatives and prospects, and fill the pipeline for the sales team
- Keep track of all interactions with potential leads with detailed notes in the company’s customer relationship management system
- Update the status of each lead in the customer relationship management system on a regular basis
- Use BadgerMaps and 8x8 platform
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure that all leads are followed up on in a timely manner
- Submit tracking of account growth and appointment setting to supervisor on a weekly basis
- Achieve higher territory growth in comparison to national average
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Excellent phone, writing, and listening skills
- Self-starter who has a desire to learn, grow, and excel in their role
- Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures
- Interest in functional medicine and nutritional supplements
- At least one year of professional experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems
- In-depth understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
