Neogen Corporation is a company dedicated to protecting the world’s food supply through innovative solutions. They are seeking an experienced Director of Project Management to lead and scale their project management function, overseeing complex engineering programs and ensuring timely, budget-compliant project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement project management strategies, frameworks, and best practices
- Establish governance models to ensure consistent execution across all engineering programs
- Partner with leadership to align project portfolios with organizational goals
- Oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring delivery timelines, quality standards, and budget targets are met
- Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively resolve issues impacting delivery
- Drive prioritization and resource allocation across competing initiatives
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of project
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence
- Provide coaching and career development opportunities for team members
- Work closely with engineering, product, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex engineering concepts into actionable plans
- Implement and optimize project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid)
- Leverage data and KPIs to continuously improve project delivery performance
- Drive adoption of tools and systems that enhance visibility and efficiency
- Provide regular updates to leadership on project status, risks, and outcomes
- Prepare executive-level reports and presentations
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in project or program management, with a strong focus on engineering or technical environments
- Proven experience leading small and large-scale, complex engineering projects or portfolios
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing teams
- Deep understanding of engineering workflows, product development lifecycles, and technical dependencies
- Expertise in project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, hybrid models)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (Master's or MBA preferred)
- PMP, PgMP, or Agile certifications
- Experience in manufacturing and building systems
- Familiarity with modern project management and collaboration tools
