Our Legal Department seeks a motivated and conscientious intern with an interest in gaining exposure to the legal and regulatory landscape of the insurance industry and the day-to-day operations of an in-house corporate legal team. The position offers hands-on experience to a wide range of matters involving corporate governance, operational excellence, intellectual property, data protection and privacy, and litigation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct legal research and analysis as needed into various corporate and legal issues aimed at promoting compliance with applicable laws, industry standards, and company policy.
Assist with the drafting and preparation of vendor and marketing contracts.
Facilitate organization and maintenance of corporate records and document retention system.
Update regulatory compliance guides aimed at fostering adherence to governing regulatory requirements.
Review advertisements and marketing materials for compliance with applicable standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

Current enrollment in an accredited Juris Doctorate (JD) program.
Must be able to commit to 20 hours per week in office at 581 Main Street, Woodbridge, New Jersey 07095.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Strong attention to detail.

SALARY RANGE

The pay for this position is $23 to $25 an hour. Actual compensation will vary based on multiple factors, including employee knowledge and experience, role scope, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
