Position Overview

ServicePoint is seeking a Data Platform & Visualization Engineer to support a client engagement with Eplus at Toyota Research Institute. This role will focus on building and enhancing an internal data platform that supports vehicle testing, experimentation, and machine learning workflows.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of data ingestion pipelines, automated processing systems, metrics tracking, and web-based visualization tools. This role involves working with established systems and components while delivering enhancements that directly support research and development teams. CANDIDATES MUST RESIDE IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and enhance data ingestion and processing workflows for large, complex datasets generated from vehicle testing and machine learning pipelines
Improve orchestration, scheduling, and reliability of long-running data workflows operating in real-world environments
Integrate downstream automation processes, including metric computation, visualization, and LLM-based post-processing tools
Develop backend services and APIs supporting data indexing, metadata management, and experiment tracking
Build user-facing dashboards and web applications to enable data exploration, results analysis, and experiment tracking
Manage and optimize SQL-based databases for storing metrics, metadata, and experiment summaries
Ensure data consistency, accessibility, and integrity across systems
Contribute to data traceability and provenance frameworks, documenting how datasets are generated, transformed, and utilized

Required Qualifications

Strong experience with Python for backend development, data pipelines, and automation
Working knowledge of SQL, including query development and database schema understanding
Experience developing web-based applications, including:

Backend APIs (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks)
Frontend development using React or similar modern frameworks

Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based storage/services
Comfortable working in Linux environments

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with machine learning experiment tracking tools
Knowledge of data provenance and lineage systems
Familiarity with workflow orchestration frameworks
Experience with advanced data visualization techniques
Exposure to LLM-based automation tools
Experience deploying Python services in cloud environments
