Job Description:

Role: Design Engineer (CREO)

Mode: Onsite

Duration: 12 Months (extendable)

Pay Rate: $45/hr C2C or $35/hr W2

Visas: U.S.C / H.4.EAD / G.C / G.C/ H.1.B

Location: Tucson, AZ

Relocation: Acceptable

Key Responsibilities

Design Development: Create structural design concepts for heavy structures and mining products.
Analysis and Validation: Perform FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and fatigue evaluation on fabrications.
Manufacturing Collaboration: Ensure designs meet cost, weight, and quality targets while collaborating with manufacturing facilities.
Projects: Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and CPI (Current Product Improvement) for loading tools

· Provide design enhancements for current and legacy products (CPI, NSI, and maintenance)

· Create design concepts that balance functional and technical needs with cost, weight, quality, and manufacturability targets.

· Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and tolerance stack-ups; Knowledge with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to identify and mitigate potential design risks.

· Support product validation activities- Familiarity with ANSYS, Abaqus, or Creo Simulate for structural and thermal analysis

· Understand and support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.

· Collaborate with external suppliers, internal manufacturing facilities, engineering partners, and the core Product Group.

· Proficient in utilizing Teamcenter or Windchill for product lifecycle management (PLM) tasks; Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, casting, machining, and forming

· Ability to create and manage BOMs (Bill of Materials) and engineering change notices; be a part of design reviews

· Knowledge collaborating in a global team environment using tools like Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint; Proficient in creating technical reports, design justifications, and comprehensive engineering documentation; Comfortable participating in and leading design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional meetings

The Top Candidates will also have:

Proven experience on products or mining industry application knowledge.
Experience with CAD software (Creo Parametric) and PLM/PDM systems (Team Center)
Prior experience with heavy structures product design and development.
Analytical skills including structural analysis expertise and personal experience performing component level FEA.
Previous experience in either NPI or CPI programs.
Strong communication skills and great interpersonal skills to interact with other engineering teams, the platform team, purchasing teams, and manufacturing teams.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s in mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering.
Tools: Proficient in Creo (CAD) and basic usage of ANSYS or similar FEA software (Abaqus, NASTRAN).
Experience: 2-4+ years of experience in heavy fabrication design, preferably in mining or construction equipment.
Skills: Strong understanding of GD&T, welding standards, and fatigue analysis.
