Loula is a leading provider network for birth and postpartum doula care, partnering with health insurance plans to simplify the administrative burden for doulas. The Founding Software Engineer will design and develop the foundational architecture of Loula's software systems, drive product development, and shape the company's culture and future.

Responsibilities:

Implement software architecture: Design and develop the foundational architecture of Loula's software systems
Lead product development: Drive the development of Loula’s platform, including front-end and back-end components
Define the product roadmap: Collaborate closely with the founding team and Loula customers to draft, develop, and refine a robust product roadmap
Talk to customers: Conduct user interviews, shadow users, and implement feedback to continuously improve the product
Technical Leadership: Take ownership of the tech stack and ensure the systems are simple, extensible, and scalable

Requirements:

4+ years of professional experience as a full-stack software engineer
Experience in building products from the ground up
Ability to design and develop foundational architecture of software systems
Experience in driving product development, including front-end and back-end components
Ability to collaborate closely with the founding team and customers to draft, develop, and refine a product roadmap
Experience conducting user interviews and implementing feedback to improve the product
Ownership of the tech stack ensuring systems are simple, extensible, and scalable
User-centric product development approach
Ability to work independently and make well-informed decisions

Experience working in startups
Experience working on early-stage products through launch
