Perform complex tasks to include non-standard reports and analysis of the impact of various projects and transactions
Audit accounts to ensure adherence to corporate policy
Conduct cost systems studies
Ensure integrity of expense, tax, insurance, overhead, accounts payable & receivables, and special fund amounts
May lead tasks or aspects of a task or project; provide guidance to less experienced staff members
Recommend improvements to accounting policies and procedures
Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Apply principles of accounting to monitor and analyze financial information, and prepare specialized reports
Balance books and prepare accounting statements (i.e., profit/loss, income, cash flow, etc.) and schedules
Record assets and liabilities and other financial transactions
Maintain records of disbursements and expenses
Review accounts and reports for accuracy
May contribute to the design or modification of accounting systems
Contribute to improving processes and procedures that accurately capture, track and report on financial transactions
Ensure adherence to and communication of accounting policies and procedures
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
5+ years directly related experience, preferably in a government contracting environment (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience)
Must have Defense contracting experience and/or experience with all 4 of gaap/sox/far/dcaa
Direct experience with preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliation, etc.
Power Query experience is highly desired
U.S. Citizenship required.
