Assist with cloud solution design, implementation, and operations across DoD-approved cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, OCI) in support of CCIS objectives.
Support system engineering activities related to cloud architecture, networking, security controls, and compliance documentation under guidance.
Contribute to RMF/NIST-based security controls mapping, risk assessments, and plan-of-action/milestones (POA&Ms) preparation with mentorship.
Help maintain and update runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and engineering diagrams for cloud and on-premises components.
Stay informed about DoD cloud initiatives, RMF guidance, and vendor-specific best practices; contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Provide training and mentorship to junior team members and assist with knowledge transfer activities.
Requirements
10 years of specialized IT experience (entry-level to early-career); applicable intern/co-op experience in cloud or IT environments is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is not strictly required but strongly preferred for progression into more advanced responsibilities (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related fields).
Demonstrated interest or foundational knowledge in cloud platforms and security concepts; willingness to learn and obtain required certifications.
ISC² Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or equivalent foundational cloud security certification (if CCSP not yet earned, please indicate plan and timeline to obtain).
DoD 8570 IAT II certification (e.g., CompTIA IAT II, or approved DoD 8570 baseline).
Google Cloud certifications: Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE) or Professional Cloud Architect (PCA).
