About this role
Role Overview
Have a strong background in liquid cooling technology used in data center design and buildout
Act as the subject matter expert on all matters related to single phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications within hyperscale data centers
Have expertise in both enclosed and facility-based cooling systems
Have experience with current Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU) technologies
Ability to detail operational expectations for LC Racks, Manifolds and other LC infrastructure
Proficiency with testing concepts for leaks/mitigation and hydrostatic pressure validation
Knowledgeable on High-Density Liquid Cooling (HDLC) products utilized in global data center applications
Review CAD/Technical Data Packages to determine and validate mechanical design requirements
Understand product specifications to lead reviews with all disciplines
Evaluate thermal data collected from engineering tests to confirm product conformance
Knowledgeable in fabrication practices and installation of piping for large-scale cooling systems
Conduct stress and flow analysis
Collaborate with project managers on design quotations
Provide technical input to identify and mitigate project risks
Conduct component selection based on fluid type, temperature, pressure, and corrosion resistance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for compatibility and integration
Prepare technical specifications for piping components and systems
Utilize CAD tools for engineering tasks
Evaluate/optimize manufacturing assembly processes
Create detailed mechanical design of components, sub-assemblies, and system integration
Capable of creating a Bill of Materials (BOM) for release to manufacturing
Perform tests, debug, and validation of mechanical systems.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in mechanical system integration
Proven track record of successful system designs and implementations in a relevant industry
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategy, and system coordination
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Alternatively, a suitable combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
