Senior Principal Mechanical Integration Engineer – Data Center Liquid Cooling

Role Overview

• Have a strong background in liquid cooling technology used in data center design and buildout
• Act as the subject matter expert on all matters related to single phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications within hyperscale data centers
• Have expertise in both enclosed and facility-based cooling systems
• Have experience with current Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU) technologies
• Ability to detail operational expectations for LC Racks, Manifolds and other LC infrastructure
• Proficiency with testing concepts for leaks/mitigation and hydrostatic pressure validation
• Knowledgeable on High-Density Liquid Cooling (HDLC) products utilized in global data center applications
• Review CAD/Technical Data Packages to determine and validate mechanical design requirements
• Understand product specifications to lead reviews with all disciplines
• Evaluate thermal data collected from engineering tests to confirm product conformance
• Knowledgeable in fabrication practices and installation of piping for large-scale cooling systems
• Conduct stress and flow analysis
• Collaborate with project managers on design quotations
• Provide technical input to identify and mitigate project risks
• Conduct component selection based on fluid type, temperature, pressure, and corrosion resistance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for compatibility and integration
• Prepare technical specifications for piping components and systems
• Utilize CAD tools for engineering tasks
• Evaluate/optimize manufacturing assembly processes
• Create detailed mechanical design of components, sub-assemblies, and system integration
• Capable of creating a Bill of Materials (BOM) for release to manufacturing
• Perform tests, debug, and validation of mechanical systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in mechanical system integration
• Proven track record of successful system designs and implementations in a relevant industry
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategy, and system coordination
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Alternatively, a suitable combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
