Role Overview
- Leadership role in promoting Nucor’s mission, ensuring that safety is instilled as a value with a strong focus on quality and environmental stewardship
- Member of the Nucor Steel leadership team responsible for successfully leading long-term profitable contributions to Nucor
- Responsible for the division’s environmental strategy with a focus on building relationships with operations/maintenance/administrative departments and continuous cost reduction
- Support Nucor’s strategy in growing enterprise sustainability initiatives
- Solid understanding of environmental compliance, permitting, and serve as a liaison for State and Federal environmental agencies
- Oversees periodic review and revision of environmental management systems, standards, and procedures
- Operational oversight of pollution control equipment (i.e., scrubbers, baghouses, etc.), wastewater treatment plants, and water systems
- Advises leadership team on Environmental objectives, targets, and metrics
- Supports Political and Community Outreach
Requirements
- 3+ years of environmental compliance experience
- 3+ years of environmental leadership experience including experience managing teams
