About this role
Role Overview
Serves as the Agency Finance Section Manager and the Agency Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA) Chief Accountability Officer (CAO) and primary contact for Agency-wide GATA activities;
Directs the formulation, design, and implementation of the Finance Section activities;
Serves as full-line supervisor;
Tracks State and Federal spending for the Agency;
Plans, develops, administer, and coordinates procedures to ensure the Agency’s financial operations are reported and handled properly;
Assists with and coordinates the audit transition process.
Directs, coordinates, and reviews agency accounts, signs travel and other documents for the Director of the IL Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Chief Financial Officer, as authorized.
Perform other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Requirements
Requires knowledge skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four of college.
Requires prior experience equivalent to four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
At least four years’ experience with developing and implementing governmental accounting and financial programs.
At least four years’ experience in interpreting and developing policies and procedures for a major financial program.
At least four years’ experience in financial matters pertaining to Federal grants.
At least four years’ experience in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) packages and their preparation.
At least four years’ experience in generally accepted government audit standards (GAGS)following American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) standards.
At least four years’ experience with accounting software programs.
Requires a valid driver’s license.
