About this role
Role Overview
Support designated leadership team in Revenue Cycle
Guide and develop Accounts Receivable department team members
Assist team members with problematic claims and operational questions
Responsible for performance and effectiveness of department staff
Develop short and long-term plans and objectives to improve revenue
Manage overall payment and denials trends
Work with insurance companies to identify reasons for denied payment
Collaborate with Coding and Billing teams to reduce denials trends
Empower staff to develop process improvement methods
Conduct systematic performance assessments and implement improvements
Perform ongoing process improvement of accounts receivable functions
Generate reports to analyze trends in unpaid claims and denial activity
Work with appropriate departments to resolve recurring issues
Provide guidance to department Supervisors to resolve issues
Develop and manage departmental budget, including overtime
Prepare monthly reports
Establish departmental goals to optimize performance
Requirements
3 to 5 years management experience in healthcare industry
Medicare and Medicaid billing experience required
Specific HIS computer systems knowledge (i.e., Epic, Cerner, Meditech)
Intermediate experience in using Microsoft Excel
Excellent verbal skills
Problem-solving skills
Critical thinking skills
Adaptability to changing procedures and growing environment
Proficient knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and other third-party payer documentation, coding and billing regulations
Knowledge of claims review and analysis (preferred)
Working knowledge of revenue cycle (preferred)
Experience working the DDE Medicare system and using payer websites to investigate claim statuses (preferred)
Working knowledge of medical terminology and/or insurance claim terminology (preferred)
