About this role
Role Overview
Leverage extensive knowledge of relational databases to develop processes to automate reporting efforts of the Employee Benefits Claims organization
Help to drive the strategic thinking of management by delivering insights that require in-depth analysis and personal initiative
Support the development of management dashboards to highlight key issues for the leadership team
Author discrete sections of packages and communications of results (often for leadership audience)
Track and analyze the outcomes and impact of various initiatives post-implementation
Work across the organization to identify data needed to analyze the business at a granular level, gathering available data through existing tools, including financial, customer/producer, operation, expense and risk drivers of profitability
Assist with development of strategic roadmap, identifying opportunities to leverage data and technology to enhance client relationships, retention and acquisition
Partner with internal and external partners to assist with development of a claims data strategy
Liaise with Finance, Operations, IT, Product and other key sources of data to identify trends, risks and opportunities and provide clear, concise and actionable insights
Develop and maintain staffing models for claims resources and associated support functions
Partner with external data and AI-focused vendors track technology initiative outcomes and results
Requirements
3+ years of direct experience with claims reporting in an Employee Benefits / Group Insurance setting
2+ years of experience with Excel, Access, Tableau, SQL and/or other relational databases
2+ years of experience with data analysis, including comfort with setting up relational databases, querying, manipulating and cleaning data sets
Specific prior experience supporting one or more of the following products: group dental, vision, life insurance, short/long term disability, statutory benefits, paid family leave, and/or supplemental health offerings (accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and associated wellness benefits)
