Reporting to the Director, the Instructional Designer will play a critical role in driving larger scale changes to enable advisors and field leaders to meet regulatory requirements.
Responsible for creating engaging and effective learning experiences by analyzing learning needs, designing curriculum, and developing educational materials.
Analyze learning needs, learning objectives and outcomes, creating instructional materials including e-learning modules, presentations, job aids and assessments.
Partner with training specialists and subject matter experts to develop training materials such as online courses, software simulations, job aids, facilitator or learner guides, audio scripts, interactive PDFs, PowerPoint presentations.
Ensure content aligns with learning objectives and goals, and provide quality assurance support of various deliverables to ensure correctness and consistency.
Requirements
2-5 years of instructional design experience in a corporate or educational setting
Post secondary education Degree, diploma or certificate in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, and/or Adult Learning is preferred
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM)
Proficiency in PowerPoint to develop advisor-facing materials with the ability to design completing visual presentations and proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products
Experience with developing SharePoint collaboration sites
Familiarity with data analysis and learning analytics
Experience with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia), graphic design capabilities (Adobe Creative Suite) is an asset
Experience with HTML 5, responsive design, SCORM, LMS functionality, video editing and multimedia production skills are an asset
Mutual fund and insurance industry experience are an asset.
