About this role
Role Overview
Lead the design of critical in-store operational experiences across picking, packing, staging, and pickup
Partner across the broader inventory ecosystem to ensure workflow consistency and end-to-end cohesion
Shape intuitive, efficient experiences that directly impact accuracy, speed, and associate productivity across multiple interconnected product areas
Navigate complex systems and work cross-functionally across inventory and fulfillment domains
Influence both product and operational decisions
Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, data, and store operations
Mentor and elevate other designers within the portfolio, helping strengthen craft, alignment, and design excellence across teams
Actively learn, collaborate, and build shared understanding with product management, engineering, and business partners
Elevate product design practices within the team by helping teammates understand and apply core product design principles
Approach discovery and validation with a practical mindset
Help the team frame problems effectively using approachable product design methods
Promote a learning culture on the team by creating opportunities to test ideas early and often
Incorporate insights from user feedback, product analytics, and qualitative signals to shape design decisions
Ensure the final experience reflects the intent of the design
Seek continuous input from users, stakeholders, and peers
Requirements
Advanced understanding of Product Design
A lean product mindset rooted in experimentation
Success in defining a cohesive research strategy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Effective facilitation, relationship building and collaboration skills to drive alignment across organizational peers and stakeholder groups
Ability to balance business objectives & customer needs
Demonstrated success defining & launching complex products
Strong deductive reasoning skills
Curious attitude and desire to learn
Customer-centric view into developing great product experiences and the ability to advocate on a customer's behalf
Experience with generative research methods
Advanced level use of problem-solving frameworks (must be able to demonstrate)
Understanding of software development lifecycle
Knowledge of lean product management
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Ability to know when to pivot or persevere based on data and learnings
Portfolio of work, demonstrating a human-centered design process
Nice to have
retail experience or experience working within inventory, fulfillment, or operational workflows.
