About this role
Role Overview
Perform plant thermal hydraulic evaluations and analyses in the areas of ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and RIPD analyses
General expertise in two-phase thermal hydraulic analysis techniques
Take responsibility for fuel project activities including reload analyses, methods implementation, power uprates, new fuel introductions, and safety analysis support for emergent fuel issues
Perform in cross-disciplinary settings, engaged with interfacing teams responsible for mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, or other affiliated organizations to find optimum customer solutions
Prepare, document and present technical data to internal/external customers
Provide technical mentoring to support team development and knowledge management, including procedure development and adherence
Develop/deliver training course offerings in support of external commercial requests, as well as for internal audiences for knowledge management, and knowledge capture and transfer
Lead team process improvements to drive speed and simplification
Ensure work is performed with high quality in accordance with regulatory rules and regulations, customer requirements, and business quality assurance standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university
Minimum 1 year of experience in T-H Nuclear Plant Safety Analysis
Experience in ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and Reactor Internals Pressure Difference analyses
M.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with experience in T/H modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems (desired)
Experience with BWR technology ECCS LOCA and Containment analysis to support applicable regulatory requirements (desired)
Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements (desired)
Experience with BWR/PWR T-H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP & TRACE (desired)
Experience in Best Estimate methodology development (e.g., TRACG LOCA) (desired)
Experience with Best Estimate and CSAU applications (desired)
Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON (desired)
