Lead design efforts for transforming Industrial Design concepts into functional and manufacturable consumer products
Work with Industrial Design and Engineering to realize intent and manufacturability/assembly of component parts and assemblies (DFM/DFA)
Conduct predictive modeling simulations (Linear/Non-Linear FEA, Fatigue/Impact, Motion and Moldflow)
Develop concepts to be fabricated into working prototypes utilizing rapid prototyping techniques for testing with the intent of mass production
Develop product drawings and part specifications that execute on the design and functionality requirements
Provide direction for material selection, design perimeters and ease of manufacturing
Be innovative focused and deliver concepts that can lead to new product ideas and patentable features on the critical path
Demonstrate the capability to understand consumer needs and translating them into technical specifications
Deliver 3D and 2D engineering data to ensure products are executed correctly to the design intent, verified with tolerance stacks and simulations
Ensure correct, efficient file transfers between all 3D file users; file and archive finished 3D models in recognized formats and locations utilizing PLM for product data management and BOM control
Manage their portion of the timeline and disseminate knowledge of best practices within the department and drive out inefficiencies
Requirements
