Provide leadership to International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) relationships and overall leadership for InterVarsity Link, Global Programs, Global Urban Trek, and Study Abroad initiatives.
Mobilize students towards mission programs, staff towards service with the IFES, and regions towards IFES twinning relationships around the world.
Develop and communicate vision and strategies for this global ministry focus.
Develop opportunities for IVCF/USA staff to serve overseas with InterVarsity Link and for students and staff to engage in Global Programs, Global Urban Trek, and Study Abroad.
Build an effective leadership team by facilitating strong collaboration, championing the understanding of organizational interdependencies, and fostering strategic decision making.
Oversee the employee life cycle of new Link staff, paying specific attention to recruitment, staff member care, and helping staff finish well.
Articulate clearly and broadly the vision and biblical basis of missions within InterVarsity.
Model mature leadership and team membership.
Requirements
Annually affirm InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement.
Minimum 3 years of cross-cultural missions experience outside the U.S. OR engaging missions cross-culturally
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
Minimum 10 years of experience within a student ministry or comparable organization with an emphasis on International Missions
Effective oral and written communication skills
High comprehension of and ability to successfully navigate dotted line supervision structures or matrices
Relevant experience and skills in cross-cultural ministry training and practices
Strong commitment to student ministry and cross-cultural missions
Demonstrated ability to raise funds for staff and programs, including experience in the funding needs of women and ethnic minority persons in ministry
Strong financial acumen, including experience preparing and managing department and project budgets
Excellent relationship builder and team player who is able to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff, management, and members of the community
Conflict resolution and mediation skills
Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a diverse team and multiethnic environment
Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with external domestic and international mission leaders
