Substation Design Engineer Intern – Part Time

Role Overview

• Assist with the development of substation P&C and/or physical design.
• Perform careful self-checking activities to ensure the quality of work.
• Prepare computer assisted design and construction drawings.
• Assist with engineering calculations such as AC and DC load calculations.
• Ensure all designs conform to client's and industry standards.
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with project manager, client, and others.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET approved college or university.
• 1
• 3 years of experience working in substation design or similar with utility or consulting engineering firm.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, and Outlook).
• Basic analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in electrical engineering preferred but not required.
