Ensure production meets customer requirements, quality standards and budget constraints.
Analyze manufacturing and test defect data and trends to define root cause and implement corrective actions.
First point of contact and direct corrective actions when issues arise in production that are process related.
Ensure equipment plans, preventative maintenance and spare parts are in place to maintain production.
Work closely with other departments such as engineering, contract manufacturing, technicians etc. to coordinate activities and troubleshoot issues.
Create process documentation for products and submit change orders, change notices and deviations in documentation management system (Agile).
Drive daily operations of current products, continuously enhancing cost-effectiveness through lean manufacturing practices.
Coordinate transition of new products and product enhancements from concept through the manufacturing process to a finished product.
Develop test plans and procedures dealing with material acquisition and substitution problems, as well as technical issues impacting shipments.
Ensure product development plan is complete and properly implemented, ensuring manufacturing resources are properly directed during the entire product life cycle.
Ensure plans and documentation are in place for test, assembly, training, process, materials transition and manufacturability.
Interface with quality to establish quality methods and metrics.
Estimate manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
Interface with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
Interfaces with purchasing in the selection/qualification of suppliers.
Responsible for replication of field and factory problems.
Ownership and maintenance of existing and new manufacturing test setups in Sunnyvale.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Systems, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with a general technical background in electronics and mechanical manufacturing methods.
Experience with production processes, assembly processes, test systems, control software, and electronics processes.
Understanding of general manufacturing processes and systems (inventory control, scheduling, new model development, and quality).
Demonstrable experience in electronic manufacturing/test environment.
Ability to analyze production processes and systems, and identify concerns.
Fluent in English.
