Role Overview
- Modeling slab cost
- Maintaining optimal inventory levels
- Forecasting future consumptions
- Managing raw material quality and trials
- Supporting the lowest cost slab production & working capital
- Ensuring smooth melt shop operations
- Primary user for Raw Material Optimization software (slab cost modeling)
- Designing, updating, and maintaining inventory reports using spreadsheet/database software
- Monitoring and providing feedback to suppliers on received quality
- Keeping up to date with current market trends and industry forecasts
- Providing recommendations and suggestions for improvements in any aspects relating to increased performance
- Optimizing operational processes and procedures for maximum efficiency while maintaining quality standards
- Tracking and reporting on operational performance for the Americas & Global Raw Materials
- Interacting with internal and external customers and suppliers, answering questions, and resolving issues
- Assisting with the implementation of new processes and procedures
- Promoting safety culture and ensuring all safety, environmental, and ergonomic requirements are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Associate degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Basic understanding of melting process preferred
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, macros preferred)
- Proven project management experience
- Demonstrated experience in process improvements and cost savings initiatives
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Experience in Operational Process environment
