Manages the day to day operations of the Clinic Referral Coordinators
Serves as the primary resource for referral issues and consults on referral processes
Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of MercyOne
Responsible for day to day operations of department including schedules, timecards, monitoring OT, and supplies
Follows up with director as appropriate if pattern identified or procedural change is indicated
Familiar with regulatory requirements and assists with the preparation for various regulatory agencies
Communicates to director departmental updates and reports problems on an on-going basis
Offers suggestions to improve services and viable options to resolve problems
Assists with developing and maintaining referral policies and procedures
Communicates to staff all relevant information; holds periodic communication meetings and monthly department meetings
Educates staff to standards and guideline changes
Selects competent staff at a level consistent with need, in a timely manner
Ensures new employees are oriented to department and job and that initial competency assessment is complete and documented
Maintains software application for the clinic enterprise
Serves as liaison for Referral Tracking process and functions
Identifies and works thru IT for software issues/concerns
Periodically runs reports and/or has reports run to ensure maximum productivity and usage of software
Keeps current with software release
May attend in services/workshops/meetings regarding the software and related processes
Oversee EPIC referral management superusers
Requirements
5-7 years of experience in field of study
Minimum of 5 years experience as a Referral Coordinator
Graduate of an accredited nursing or medical assistant program preferred
Certification and/or appropriate experience in a related field (lab, X-ray, etc.) may be considered
