Uses analytical ability to perform initial patient assessments including physical, functional, social and environmental resource requirements and needs.
Ensures communication and coordination of services /care among all clinical services.
Performs initial equipment set-up and patient/family/caregiver education.
Develops patient specific plans of care based on initial assessments to include problems, goals and interventions.
Reviews and revises care plans on an ongoing basis and ensure that all patients are followed according to that plan per PHS policy.
Ensures that all required documentation is completed accurately and within the time frames set forth in PHS policy.
Participates in care conferences and collaborates with all care team members internally and externally.
Participates in day to day trouble shooting.
Performs all on-call activities, analyze problems, formulates solutions, and notifies manager on-call as needed.
Attend department and staff meetings as necessary.
Schedule all patient visits per PHS follow-up policy.
Requirements
holds the following license; LRT, BLS
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
One to two years of pediatric experience as a Respiratory Therapist
