Senior Engineering Manager – Gas Power Technical Compliance

Role Overview

• Establish the long-term strategy, yearly priorities, and monthly/weekly/daily management routines for product definition work to deliver on end customer and internal business objectives for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost in that order
• Champion Innovation through the identification and adoption of the latest technology and empower the team to continuously improve their standard work
• Maintain the teams existing positive work environment, promoting GE Vernova’s One Team mindset in collaboration with other functions including: Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Sourcing and Quality
• Meet business goals for standardization, direct release optimization and reduction of requisition hours
• Create, establish and monitor strategies, programs, plans and budgets to assure business needs are covered as well as internal/external customer satisfaction
• Ensure employees receive the training, support and guidance needed to continuously increase their responsibilities, technical contributions and growth
• Own team performance evaluations, as well as salary planning/adjustments and promotions
• Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback and coaching
• Assure timely communication of technical and business information among organizations and within the team
• Ensure procedures are established and adhered to, maintaining the high-quality of Technical Compliance deliverables, conforming to Engineering Standards, Design Practices, Lessons Learned and applicable standard work
• Role model the GE Vernova Way: drive innovation, serve our customers, lean is how we work, win as one team, and drive accountability
• Ensure self-growth by staying up-to-date on business/industry trends, investor relations, and/or marketplace demands
• Manage the Global Technical Compliance resources in United States, Mexico, France, Switzerland, Hungary, Poland, India and South Korea, by planning the budgets and headcount required to meet NPI, Tendering (ITO) and Project execution (OTR) program commitments

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or an equivalent STEM field and significant years of relevant industry/domain experience
• Significant experience of direct people leader/supervisory experience
• Demonstrates the GE Vernova Way: Innovation, Customers, Lean, One Team, Accountable
• Prior experience as a leader of leaders in a global matrix environment (desired)
• Knowledge of European Directive requirements including those for Machinery, Pressure Equipment and Explosive Atmospheres (desired)
• Knowledge of applying global standard schemes including IEC, ASME, NFPA, CSA, EN and others as required by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) (desired)
• Knowledge in Functional Safety (IEC 61508 family of standards and related philosophy) (desired)
• Proven experience implementing, using and coaching foundational lean skills/tools: Standard Work, Daily Management, Leader Standard Work, Problem Solving, KPI Development, Waste Identification (desired)
• Gas Power Engineering tools knowledge: PLM – Dassault, Siemens Team Center; Confluence; Documentum; Project Tool Suite (PTS); Configure Price Quote (CPQ); PowerNow (desired)
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities including working with large organizations and various levels of leadership, up to and including Senior Executive and Vice President leaders
