Guide a team of structural engineers and interface directly with clients.
Develop calculations, document designs, and specifications.
Conduct structural analyses including loading conditions such as wind, seismic, blast, and pressurization.
Assist in structural steel design and reinforced concrete design.
Responsible for direct reports in all aspects including hiring, training, mentoring, and performance reviews.
Coordinate with other supervisors and directors to resource projects.
Facilitate weekly team meetings and participate in department meetings.
Conduct individual 1:1 with direct reports.
Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and field verification of designs.
Requirements
A BSEE degree from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board
accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program
10+ years of experience working as a member of a project team environment in the design of oil and gas facilities, with a focus on the analysis of steel structures and concrete foundations and supports for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities
Technically knowledgeable of the practical application of structural engineering including analysis for structural supports, loads, and design integrity.
Proficiency with any of the following programs: MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
Familiarity with design codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
