Own and direct a team of Electrical & ICA engineers for delivery of technical design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects following relevant client and project specific design codes and standards, and to high-quality levels.
Successfully manage time and budgets of the Electrical & ICA team to key project milestones and programmes.
Responsible for directing and reviewing technical deliverables such as Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Load Schedules, MCC specifications, Control Philosophies, Control Network Architecture.
Provide technical leadership into project design deliverables for Electrical aspects of complex multi-disciplinary projects and work with the project management team to successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
Collaborate with client, operational, project, or service activities within your immediate team and other related AtkinsRéalis teams.
Provide direction and guidance to Senior and Principal colleagues.
Lead the growth of local Electrical & ICA team and the wider Electrical & ICA technical network.
Work independently with minimal technical guidance.
Exercise personal judgement to solve difficult problems where appropriate and provide guidance to Senior and Principal team members.
Provide technical support and direction for bid proposals.
Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
Setting quality assurance standards in design and ensure compliance from Electrical & ICA teams.
Leading business development initiatives to drive growth of water market for AtkinsRéalis.
Support leadership and management of the D&AT team within the Manchester office.
Requirements
A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Chartered Engineer
Proven experience in leading or directing an Electrical & ICA engineering design delivery team for a design consultancy including within a multi-disciplinary environment
Takes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions to design problems
Requires comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in Electrical designs
Extensive knowledge of water company design codes and standards as well as industry best practices, such as WIMES
Strong awareness of HAZOP assessments, lightning strike risk assessments, earthing and bonding, lighting designs, DSEAR and ATEX installation practices
Ability to work independently with minimal technical guidance
Experience in water market is preferred but not required
Experience in industrial and process environment is essential
Demonstrates strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively within diverse multi-disciplinary teams
