Provide legal services and support related to contractual matters such as procurement/sales matters, including the drafting, negotiation and revising of procurement/sales agreements.
Manage litigation matters of the Unit with the support of external counsels if needed.
Work on general commercial matters related to the Unit.
Provide legal support on projects of group-wide importance (such as restructurings, significant mill projects and M&A).
Provide legal advice and training related to compliance and policy matters for the Unit.
Requirements
Must be a graduate of an accredited law school and member of the Quebec bar
Must be fluent in French and English (both in writing and orally)*
At least 5 years of experience in the related areas with a law firm or company legal department
Occasional travel for in-person meetings with the other in-house attorneys, internal clients and stakeholders.
Knowledge of forestry, natural resources, environment and/or international trade is a plus.
Prior in-house experience in or related to the pulp and paper industry is a plus.
