Role Overview
- Advise Nasdaq's Digital Assets business on evolving legal and regulatory requirements for digital asset securities, crypto trading, tokenization, and blockchain products
- Draft and review regulatory filings, legal documents, and submissions required to advance business objectives and maintain compliance
- Provide guidance on federal securities and commodities laws, anti-money laundering regulations, and state and international regulatory frameworks
- Partner with cross-functional teams across the U.S. and Europe to align legal strategy with business priorities
- Support investigations, litigation matters, and enforcement inquiries while advising on company policies and legal requirements
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar membership in good standing
- 10–12 years of legal experience with significant focus on digital assets, cryptocurrency, or blockchain regulatory matters
- In-house legal experience at a digital assets company or law firm experience advising digital asset clients
- Strong ability to apply federal securities and commodities laws to emerging digital asset markets
- Clear communicator with experience in collaborative, cross-functional legal environments
- Prior experience at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) (preferred)
- Expertise in anti-money laundering (AML) laws and regulations (preferred)
- Familiarity with international digital asset regulations and cross-border compliance frameworks (preferred)
