Supervise and mentor a team of Electronic Systems Engineering Technologists, supporting a high‑trust, safety‑driven team culture
Plan and coordinate daily work, ensuring job readiness, parts availability, and clarity of scope
Provide troubleshooting support and act as the escalation point for the shift Technologist
Maintain the ongoing technician work list and manage schedules to meet operational needs
Ensure clear, consistent reporting and facilitate weekly problem‑solving reviews
Partner with the Underground Electrical Planner on scheduling and prioritizing work
Act as the liaison between Technologists and Operations, Maintenance, Automation, IT, and Engineering
Participate in key meetings, communicating updates, impacts, and required actions
Oversee spares, materials inventory, and job kitting to support efficient execution
Develop SOPs and standardized work packages for electrical, communication, and automation tasks
Maintain accurate documentation for underground network, wireless, phone, and fiber systems
Build and manage preventive maintenance schedules for communication systems
Support installation of communication infrastructure in new refuge stations
Work with IT to continuously improve network reliability and redundancy
Support interviewing and selection of Electrical Technologists
Identify and coordinate internal and external training opportunities
Maintain a skills matrix and create development plans for the team
Requirements
An Electrical Engineering Degree OR a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronic Systems Engineering Technology, or an equivalent field
4+ years’ experience in an underground or industrial environment; however, a range of experience will be considered
Ability to obtain the qualifications needed for a Saskatchewan Supervisory Certificate required by the Saskatchewan Department of Labour; preference will be given to candidates who already possess this Certificate
