Roadway geometric design and modeling.
Preparation of detailed construction plans and contract documents.
Prepares and checks design computations, design plans, and quantity estimates.
Use of computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Coordination with regulatory agencies, utility companies and subconsultants to obtain information, guidance, and requirements.
Manage project design tasks with a team of engineers and designers.
Develop project management skills to coordinate project designs and manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables with teammates and clients.
Organize, attend, and participate in client meetings. Communicating with clients is a key function of this position.
Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control.

Bachelor of Science in Civil or Construction Engineering.
10+ years of relevant experience with 4+ years of highway or interstate design experience is required.
PE required; Must possess the ability to obtain IA PE within six months of hire.
Prior experience working for a transportation agency or consulting engineering firm.
Knowledge and experience with the Iowa DOT including the Roadway Design Manual and Electronic Reference Library (ERL) beneficial but not required.
Experience using Microstation and OpenRoad Designer.
