Role Overview
- Works with internal and external stakeholders on the development of new and optimization of existing automation and material handling/storage equipment to continuously improve material flow.
- Provides technical troubleshooting to logistics equipment as appropriate to ensure optimum operational performance.
- Leads projects to implement automation and material handling/storage equipment to improve material flow.
- Lead business cases for new technologies, cost estimates and project calculations.
- Contributes to the development of the material handling/storage equipment strategic roadmap.
- Leads the technical design for Logistics automation and other material handling/storage equipment.
- Contacts potential suppliers and recommends the final technical decision.
- Troubleshoots hardware and/or software issues on automation equipment.
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, material flow/storage, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial and Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in layout and material flow planning and material handling/storage equipment.
- 3+ years of experience with Automation and Robotics in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Capable of making sound decisions in a timely manner.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule both daily and project tasks.
- Working knowledge of ISO-9000, IATF 16949 and ISO-14000 standards and requirements.
