Role Overview
Benefits administration and analysis
Support the Benefits Manager in the administration of group insurance programs (health, dental, disability, life, etc.)
Analyze benefits-related data, identify trends, and prepare regular and ad hoc reports for management
Assist with annual benefits renewals, audits, and preparation of compliance reports
Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits and complex issues, as needed
Update employee profiles in Workday regarding administrative changes to benefits and pension/retirement coverage
Partner with the HR Technology team to update eligibility rules and benefits configuration in Workday
Work closely with benefits vendors to resolve employee issues or Workday integration problems
Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, year-end tasks, and statutory source withholdings
Support payroll reconciliations, audits, and reporting
Work with the HR Technology team to update payroll configuration in Workday (e.g., new payroll code requirements)
Respond to employee inquiries on complex payroll matters, as required
Help resolve integration issues between our payroll system and financial systems
Extract, manipulate, and analyze HR, benefits, and payroll data from Workday
Develop and maintain advanced models, dashboards, and reports for HR leadership in Excel
Ensure data integrity and accuracy in Workday and external benefits systems
Work closely with the Director, Senior Manager, manager, and Payroll team to streamline processes and improve data-driven decision-making
Participate in HR projects and initiatives as needed
Support Workday implementation testing and required related updates
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
3+ years of experience in benefits administration, payroll, or HR analytics, preferably within a professional services environment
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, data visualization, etc.)
Experience with Workday payroll and benefits modules
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Self-starter with the ability to identify and implement process improvements, manage unexpected situations, and overcome obstacles independently
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with sensitive information
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of Canadian payroll and benefits legislation
Bilingual in English and French, both written and spoken
