Behavioral Health Care Manager I

Role Overview

• Managing psychiatric and substance abuse treatment health benefits through telephonic or written review
• Assessing member needs to ensure access to medically necessary behavioral healthcare
• Referring cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate
• Performing psychiatric and substance abuse assessment coordination, implementation, case planning, monitoring, and evaluation

Requirements

• MA/MS in social work, counseling, or a related behavioral health field, or degree in nursing
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment
• Current active unrestricted license (e.g., RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LBA), or Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) in states without licensure
• Previous experience in case management/utilization management with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred
