Role Overview
- Conduct risk assessment and classification
- Support advisors and clients, especially with large life insurance cases
- Enhance sales through strong advisor relationships
- Prepare comprehensive cover letters and respond to inquiries
- Engage with clients to provide curated preliminary opinions
- Collaborate with the National Field Underwriter and Head Office underwriters
- Maintain relationships with internal/external partners
- Stay updated with industry trends and guidelines
- Manage client expectations by identifying unwanted risks
- Align with consumer laws and regulations
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of experience as an underwriter
- Specializing in large life insurance cases over $5 million
- Proven track record in underwriting with a sales mindset
- Strong understanding of insurance products, financial and medical guidelines
- Experience with financial reports and training in anti-money laundering practices
- Ability to work collaboratively with advisors, wholesalers, and underwriters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Fully bilingual (French/English)
