Manages all incoming calls related to commercial lines of business (excluding workers' compensation)
Obtains all essential information related to the claim from producer and/or client
Never implies or denies coverage of a claim
Determines applicable coverage/policy related to the claim and completes appropriate ACORD form
Submits ACORD form to the appropriate carrier within mandated timelines (24 hours from receipt)
Notifies the Producer/Account Manager and client by email and phone of the adjuster’s name, phone number and claim number
Receives and processes daily mail and phone calls relative to the claim in process and updates Account Management System (AMS) with said information
Advocates on behalf of our clients for coverage and proper claims management, including reserving and settlements
Explores risk control services offered by carriers and other vendors internal and external then determine if our clients would benefit from them; provides support in establishing safety goals and measurements for the client
Provides focus and recommendation on continuous improvement of the Company claim process to enable us to maintain a competitive edge over competition
Continually keeps AMS up to date with all claims related information
Coordinates all communications between the client and carrier and will continually keep the producer and account manager updated as well
Acts as claims expert and provide guidance and direction to all requests
As appropriate, will update and close the claim in AMS and will notify the Producer/Account Manager and client of closure and how much was spent on the claim
Maintains all suspense items in AMS for pending items and will close them out when completed
Makes photocopies, facsimiles, photographs, scanning and email communications as appropriate
Performs other projects, duties, and tasks, as assigned.
Requirements
A Property & Casualty License from state of domicile is required and must be maintained
High School Diploma or its equivalent
3+ years of successful experience managing Property & Casualty Claims
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are required to maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, claim adjusters, defense counsel and others
Working knowledge of insurance markets, products, services, insurance ratings and underwriting procedures
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (primary Excel, Work and Outlook)
Must have the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and pay strict attention to detail
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills are a must
Strong work ethic, upbeat personality with a sense of urgency, initiative, responsive and proactive approach to work
Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Excellent organizational skills in handling large volumes of work
Working knowledge of the laws and regulations associated with HIPAA
Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality
Ability to work independently and on a team.
