Model Validation AVP

Role Overview

• Validate and approve models for specific usages both at inception and on a periodic basis
• Conduct annual reviews of models
• Assess model conceptual soundness, performance, and documentation of risks
• Document validation findings and provide actionable insights
• Evaluate model interactions and aggregate results for regulatory submissions
• Design methodology to measure model risk
• Collaborate closely with functions/business divisions
• Coach team members and set performance objectives
• Identify new directions for projects and consult on complex issues
• Communicate complex information and influence stakeholders

Requirements

• Experience in model validation, model development, or model risk management
• Understanding of quantitative techniques and statistical models
• Knowledge of financial crime, AML, transaction monitoring, or surveillance models
• Experience with machine learning methods and analytical tools
• Ability to perform data analysis, benchmarking, and model performance assessment
• Understanding of model governance frameworks and regulatory requirements
• Stakeholder management and ability to challenge effectively
• Advanced Excel and data handling skills
