Assist in defining project scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables for roadway design projects.
Perform roadway design for intersections, arterials, expressways, interstates, and interchanges using LADOTD standards and CAD tools (MicroStation, OpenRoads).
Develop detailed construction drawings, specifications, and design reports.
Conduct geometric design including alignments, cross sections, and pavement design.
Ensure compliance with Arcadis practices, LADOTD policies, and industry standards through quality control and technical reviews.
Support project managers with client coordination, progress monitoring, and project documentation.
Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design solutions and manage expectations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (transportation, drainage, structures, utilities) to integrate design components.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and interns.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering an ABET-accredited university.
2–3 years of roadway design experience, including LADOTD projects.
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with intent to pursue PE licensure.
