Assist in the preparation of geometric highway and street designs, including horizontal and vertical alignments, superelevation, typical sections, and cross sections tailored to TDOT standards.
Contribute to drainage design efforts involving hydrology and hydraulic analysis relevant to roadway projects.
Help develop complete roadway corridor models and construction plan sets in compliance with TDOT policies and guidelines.
Calculate and tabulate material quantities and generate construction estimates.
Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure all designs meet AASHTO, MUTCD, and TDOT design criteria.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or another closely related field
EIT Certification
Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, or similar civil design software is preferred.
Basic understanding of geometric design principles, traffic operations, and relevant standards (AASHTO, MUTCD, TDOT specifications).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
