Americas Customs Operations Leader

Role Overview

• Lead the region operations team for Customs operations covering 4 countries
• Manage Customs Brokers and Customs Vendors for ~200,000 shipments annually
• Oversee ~60 GE Aerospace sites’ export and import process conformance
• Lead corrective actions as needed; manage government agency compliance reporting
• Own KPI’s to monitor Enterprise Standard and regulatory conformance
• Prepare for global external audit and audit processes
• Ensure pre-declaration review is performed before import or export occurs
• Work with approved agents to support daily customs clearances and shipment issue resolution
• Ensure trained personnel support Customs activities in the region
• Identify Customs risk areas and develop actionable plans

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
• Minimum 5 years experience in Customs Processes
• US Customs Broker License Preferred
• Advanced degree from accredited university
• Wing to wing expertise across customs processes
• Demonstrated Compliance mindset
• Demonstrated ability to use knowledge, experience and instinct to make accurate and timely decisions
• Demonstrated ability of working with all levels of internal and external organizations
• Demonstrated ability to implement simple, fast and non-bureaucratic process improvements
• Experience in working with global teams and demonstrates a global mindset
