Lead and manage a team responsible for AI/ML and emerging technology risk oversight, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and development.
Establish and maintain risk governance, standards, control frameworks, and oversight processes for Generative AI and Machine Learning solutions.
Provide risk review and effective challenge across the AI/ML lifecycle, including model design, development, validation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.
Partner with data science, engineering, and business teams to embed risk controls throughout the AI/ML lifecycle.
Oversee risk assessments, control testing, issue management, and remediation activities related to AI and advanced analytics.
Evaluate and manage third-party and vendor risks associated with AI platforms, tools, and data sources.
Translate complex technical and model risks into clear, actionable insights for senior leaders and governance forums.
Monitor emerging regulatory guidance, industry standards, and best practices related to AI and model risk management.
Prepare and present risk reporting, metrics, and recommendations to leadership and risk committees.
Exercise decision authority and independent judgment related to AI/ML risk assessments, control recommendations, issue escalation, and, within defined thresholds, risk positions, remediation plans, and risk acceptances.
Provide direct supervision of Senior Analysts and Analysts within Technology Risk.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Risk Management, or a related field
Master’s degree (or equivalent experience in lieu of advanced education)
Strong people leadership, coaching, and talent development capabilities
Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, including LLMs and model training, validation, and deployment
Knowledge of Responsible AI principles, model risk management, and data governance
Ability to assess and challenge complex technical risks with sound judgment
Strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior leaders
Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, rapidly evolving technology environments.
