About this role
Role Overview
- Deliver advanced hands-on support for infrastructure services and deployments across office, manufacturing, distribution, admin and lab environments
- Collaborate with others in local and global IT groups in overlapping technologies and provide after-hours support as needed
- Traveling to other Medtronic sites as required
- Develops, documents, and configures systems specifications that conform to defined architecture standards, address business requirements, and processes
- Evaluates the interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of the overall system
- Active identification of system functionality or performance deficiencies
- Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring needs are heard and addressed promptly
- Provide onsite support for troubleshooting, diagnostics, escalation, and maintenance of infrastructure
- Lead IT efforts for local projects from inception to completion
- May document testing and maintenance of system updates, modifications, and configurations
Requirements
- High school diploma (or equivalent) and 4+ years of experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in configuring, deploying, managing and supporting networks, servers, storage and backup solutions (strongly preferred)
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Advanced knowledge of networking, device security, enterprise applications
- Working knowledge and proficiency in monitoring & troubleshooting tools
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues with infrastructure equipment
- Experience with Cisco, Juniper or Dell products
- Reliable transportation or ability to rent a vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Previous Medtronic experience
- CCNA certification or equivalent
- Knowledge of cloud and on-premise data center services
- Experience in managing UPS, power supply and cabling
- Experience in leading or coordinating IT projects
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere
- Understanding of cybersecurity concepts
- Experience with audio/visual and unified communications
- Proficiency with SCCM, Intune, PowerShell scripting
- Strong skills in analyzing logs, debugging, and optimizing IT infrastructure
